Providing packages and special offers is your secret weapon against OTAs like booking.com. The OTAs cannot offer anything special, just B&B and DBB rates. But don’t overdo it, we recommend that you don’t have more than five offers at a time, as too much choice prevents guests from making a decision.
When creating offers, ask yourself “what is special about my offers”. Unless it’s your strategy, do not be price lead, be feature lead.
A DBB rate is not a special offer.
And “late availability” that is always visible on your website will teach guests to book late and wait before committing to an advance purchase.
Aim to always have three of these:
1.) The main thing that is special about your property
If you do fine dining, consider a dine and stay package, or if you have a spa, consider a stay and signature treatment package.
